Data Protection & Consent (Center)

This page describes the user-side significance of Settings → Privacy (/dashboard/settings/privacy). Technical details about the API can be found in the Public Center Website API – Contract.

One Source per Center​

Tracking, consent, and legal URLs are managed per shopping center through the website configuration (fields like themeOverrides, AI/chat parameters). The same values control:

  • the center website (templates, cookie notice),
  • WordPress (via embed-config, among others visitorPrivacy),
  • public/partner interfaces (e.g., Visitor-Surface-Build with visitorPrivacy).

There is no additional "Privacy" table and no data loss upon introduction: new texts/flags exist within the existing JSON structure of the website configuration.

Roles & Center Selection​

Accessible for SUPER_ADMIN, CENTER_MANAGER, and CENTER_ADMIN (see Navigation & Modules). Center admins implicitly work on their assigned center; other roles select the center on the page.

Collaboration with the Website Tab​

Detailed legal content (flow texts, links, legal pages) can also be maintained in the Center Profile → Website Tab → Legal. Dashboard privacy and website tab write to the same configuration; manage in the place that suits your workflow, and then save consistently.

What cockpitOS Purposefully Does Not Pretend​

  • External CMPs (Usercentrics, Cookiebot, etc.) with full legal tracking: this would require, for example, stored container IDs and script integration — not represented as a complete CMP product in this interface.
  • DSAR/deletion lists with operational ticket workflow: this would require its own tables, processes, and connection to user and event data.
  • Platform-specific analytics/log retention (internal product) is not the same as the visitor consent on the center website.

On the settings page, areas are accordingly planned or marked as not covered by the system to avoid the impression of a complete GDPR operating resource where the data foundation is lacking.

Next Steps for You​

  1. Select the center and check Tracking / Banner as well as Chat & WordPress relevant URLs.
  2. Briefly save; changes will affect the website, embed configuration, and public visitor data after the usual deploy/cache behavior.
  3. Use or supplement the Website → Legal view for legal texts.
